Atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis (Hardening and narrowing of the arteries) is a disease related to the cardiovascular system (See cardiovascular health). A sticky substance called Plaque can build up on the arterial walls, and eventually lead to restriction or even complete obstruction of the blood flow throughout the arteries. If the brain or vital organs such as the heart and lungs are deprived of oxygen rich blood, this can lead to a heart attack, heart disease, stroke, blood clots, and even fatality. High cholesterol, high blood pressure, smoking, lack of exercise, poor dietary habits, and Diabetes are all risk factors that can lead to Atherosclerosis. There are usually no symptoms associated with Atherosclerosis until several arteries become clogged with Plaque. At this point, blood flow and lack of oxygen occur and some symptoms may appear, possibly in the form of a localized pain or some type of discomfort felt. Symptoms are diverse, and generally relate to which arteries are clogged and what part of the body is affected by the reduction in blood flow. It is important that you discuss this condition with your doctor, in addition to making lifestyle changes such as improving your diet and/or adding a regular exercise regimen. Below are some all natural health supplements to help strengthen your cardiovascular system (it is highly recommended that you discuss these products with your doctor prior to usage).
